With delicate red pencil lines on blue paper, Dennis Scholl portrays a young figure whose gaze immediately engages the viewer. The restrained palette lends the image an almost weightless quality, while the face seems to oscillate between presence and dissolution. Scholl captures a moment of quiet contemplation that feels at once intimate and distant, fragile yet self-assured.
