In this lithograph of a head, you can recognize Olaf Hajek's typical care and his mastery of the line. Only gradually does one discover the variety of plants and animals in the composition of soft green and red. It is the beauty and poetry of nature in whose gaze one can lose oneself.

This work is Olaf Hajek's very first lithograph, which he produced together with and exclusively for FRIDAY BIRD. The edition was printed in Berlin by Ulrich Kühle in his workshop Keystone Editions.

About Olaf Hajek

Olaf Hajek (born 1965 in Rendsburg) is a Berlin-based painter and illustrator known for his detailed, symbol-rich imagery. His work combines references from folklore, botany, and mythology with contemporary themes. Alongside international exhibitions, he collaborates with major design brands and recently created a vase collection for the Meissen porcelain manufactory.

About Lithography

Developed in the late 18th century, lithography revolutionized printmaking by allowing artists to draw directly on stone. Its smooth tonal range made it a favorite for both fine art and posters. Discover how grease, water, and stone create this expressive process.
