Agathe de Bailliencourt’s etching "Pre-delay (purple)" presents two contrasting halves that were printed from two differently treated plates. On the left, fluid, organic forms spread across the surface, evoking ink or water in soft gradients. The right side is dominated by bold, sweeping brushstrokes in deep black, subtly merging into a violet hue. In this field of tension, the form is in the process of emerging or collapsing, depending on the direction of reading.

About the Frame

Dark brown alder features a subtle reddish undertone that brings warmth and refinement to any artwork. Its rich, deep hue makes it an elegant and natural alternative to a classic black frame.

We collaborate with a trusted manufacturer who crafts our frames using real wood veneer. This approach preserves the authentic character and texture of the wood while ensuring sustainable use of high-quality materials. Each frame is designed as a distance frame, keeping the glass slightly away from the artwork for both aesthetic and conservation reasons. We use museum glass for superior protection and clarity, maintaining the artwork’s true colors and fine details. For aesthetic reasons, our artworks are typically framed without a mat, creating a clean, contemporary presentation. With a slim 13 mm profile, the frame enhances the artwork’s presence without overpowering it.

About Etching

Originating in medieval Europe, etching became one of the most important printmaking techniques of the old masters. Using acid to bite designs into metal plates, artists achieved remarkable detail and expression.
