The image depicts an abstract landscape silhouetted against a vibrant background in shades of yellow, blue, and pink. Delicate white dots resembling a spider web stretch across the lower part of the image, creating a mysterious, almost magical atmosphere. Playful shapes and the dynamic color gradient add a dreamlike depth to the scene.

About Julian Felix Kirchner

Julian Felix Kirchner (born 1983 in Schweinfurt, Germany) is a Cologne-based artist working primarily with woodcut. A graduate of the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, he explores gesture, texture, and abstraction through traditional printmaking techniques such as the lost plate process. His recent solo exhibitions include On Top of the Number Row (Cologne, 2024) and Amalgam at Kunstverein Schweinfurt (2025).

About Woodcut

One of the oldest printmaking methods, woodcut has been used for centuries to create bold, graphic imagery. Woodcut is a relief printmaking technique in which artists carve an image into a wooden block, leaving raised areas to receive ink. Prints made from the block reveal bold lines, textures, and contrasts.
